Jumuia Hospitals
In April 2015, EADB approved a loan of KES 350 million to Jumuia Hospitals to co-finance the redevelopment of two modern hospitals: Huruma and Kamoisi hospitals, with a 130 and 95-bed capacity and the most up-to-date technical equipment. Kamoisi hospital was officially opened completed in June 2017.
The project will significantly improve Kenya’s healthcare system and upgrade healthcare options for the Kenyan population. In doing so, the project is expected to generate tax revenue from attracting individuals that may otherwise travel overseas for healthcare and to increase access to healthcare for the less wealthy population. Furthermore, the project will create permanent employment at the hospitals and will develop the private sector through their supply chain.
